This Week in Review - Bethany becomes a Ballerina, Annie gets her cast off

We had a busy week-Bethany went to her first pre-ballet class on Tuesday morning and by all accounts had a wonderful time. When Charlie took her in on Monday to register for the class, she got so excited by the sight of the dance floor that they had to physically restrain her from going out in her street shoes - a big no-no. She will be going each Tuesday for the next 8 weeks.

She is such a good little dancer already. I've never seen a kid so into something at this age. Whenever we turn on music , she starts swaying around and she's been practicing her ballet positions. When she does this, she shouts "MeiMei - BA YA EENA!!!" Then she bows to the ground and asks for everyone to applaud.

Annie's cast came off today. She now has 5 fingers on her left hand. The new fingers are shorter than her index finger that was separated last September. We didn't see too much of them before they were wrapped up again. The cast removal didn't hurt but poor Annie completely freaked out and screamed her head off, both in the cast room and in the exam room. She screamed so loud that several of the other kids in rooms along the hall started screaming too. We had a bunch of doctors and nurses at the door and they finally distracted her with bubbles. Despite all the drama she was a very brave girl and has done so well throughout this whole process. The doctor said everything looks really good and we go back in a month. In the meantime, it will be great to be able give her a real bath.
