Catching up

I've been behind on posting - too much going on lately it seems. Both Charlie and I are very busy at work, seems like there are never enough people to get the job done. The girls are enjoying preschool - some days it's hard to get them to leave. Annie will start first grade in 3 weeks. She understands that she will be going to a different place, but I don't think Bethany quite gets it yet. Bethany loves preschool, and everything will be fine, but it will be hard for her to be away from Annie.

Annie's birthday was the 4th and we had a party at preschool the 3rd. On her actualy birthday we went to a picnic out in Corbett for the Adopting Limb Differences Yahoo group I belong to. It was fun to meet people I'd only emailed with and the girls had fun playing on trampoline and other cool toys. Joan and Mary went to the picnic with us then we went shopping for a while.

There was more celebration on Sunday when we went to Papa's Pizza for a family and friends party. This place has a big playroom (sort of a like a giant McDonald's Playplace. We actually had Annie's birthday there last year and she wanted to go there this year too.

Birthdays seem to be a hard time of year for Annie and she seems to become sad and think about her past life in China. It's a happy but said time for me, too, as I think about her birth parents and how they must wonder where she is and if she is okay. We have been so blessed by Annie because someone 6 years ago made an incredibly difficult decision. I wish there were some way to let them know that she is safe and happy and very well-loved.
