Bikes

Jack got his bike from my parents his first Christmas here and he is very attached to it. He's not ready to take off the training wheels yet. We are hoping that after he has surgery (next week!) to insert plates into his legs, and his legs grow straighter, he will be more confident and his balance will improve. But he's happy now. There are some other kids around their age across the street and they love to ride around in a pack.

When I was a child, it was safe for us to roam freely around the neighborhood on our bikes. We often rode into the twilight hours, trying to ignore our mothers calling for us to come home and get to bed. Although we keep them pretty close to home. it's amazing now to watch my own children flying through the early evenings, with the wind in their faces, radiating pure joy.

Looks like they are having a ton of fun! Ours love their bikes as well and we are lucky to have a cul-de-sac for them to ride in. Wondering how long until those training wheels come off? What day is Jack's surgery? Call if you need anything! Need to get your order to you as well :-)

Yep - we had a big hill on our street - and being able to RIDE up the hill was a rite of passage - you were really old and big when you could do that!

Prayers for sucessful surgery - and hugs
