Haven't posted anything lately due to a nasty, month-long respiratory thing that is still not quite over and prevented me from getting to go to Florida (yes, Florida where it is 80 degrees) for a work meeting last week. I was actually going to stay in a nice hotel BY MYSELF. Which means I got to control the remote, take a bath or shower WITHOUT INTERRUPTION and wake up in the morning BY MYSELF (in our house, that means without the 3 kids, 2 dogs and 1 husband). Instead, I got to get up at 4:00, scrape ice off the car and participate in the meeting by phone. Ugh.
Today is Valentine's Day. Charlie is working and won't be home for a couple of hours. We usually don't make a big deal of the day, but the kids like to get or make cards and of course give and get treats. It's always hard for Charlie because he hates chocolate and all the fun stuff seems to be made of chocolate. So Annie had a great idea this year: they got a heart-shaped box of chocolates, took all the candy out (of course, there is some benefit to them in this plan also) and carefully cut shapes out of oatmeal raisin cookies to fit in the chocolate spaces. Pretty cute actually. Charlie will be thinking he will have to be nice about getting chocolate and he will actually get something he loves!
Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Betsy - hope that you are well on the mend - we've had that same thing I think - it's not the flu, or a cold - but it sure is an achy barky cough can't breath - kind of thing!
As for Charlie's gift - that is cool in the EXTREME - just the thought of the effort - he'll be one happy guy!
hugs - and Happy Valentine's Day back to all ya'll from all of us!
