Boys are so different from girls...

Today was one of Charlie's days off and he was home with the kids. We had open house night at school and the kids got to see their new desks and we got to meet the teachers. The girls start school next Tuesday (Annie in 3rd grade and Bethany in 1st grade) and Jack starts kindergarten on Thursday. Because he only got a few months of kindergarten after coming home last year, and because he has a late birthday, we decided to have him do another year of kindergarten to give him as chance to catch up.

Annie has been refusing to sleep in her bed for some time now and prefers to sleep on a comforter on the floor (surrounded by piles of blankies and books). When we got home tonight, she went in the room and there was a big wet spot on the comforter. Maggie the dog (aka the Maggot) originally got the blame, but it eventually came out that it was actually Jack's doing.

He first tried to pass it off as something that happened in the middle of the night while he was sleepy but since the spot was not there this morning, that did not fly. He finally admitted that he decided to pee on Annie's comforter because he was mad at her! Oh my. I don't think the girls would have ever thought about doing anything along those lines. He had a nice long time out to think about it and now understands that he is at risk of having his Ultraman collection going away for a long stretch if something like this happens again.

Boys certainly add a whole new dimension to your life.

so true...boys will come up with things and do things that you could not dream up if you tried! When my son was potty training he took his own diper off and decided to paint the walls brown. I could not believe what he had done and was shocked, disgusted, ect...

eventually...you will laugh about it or use it as bribery when he is a teen...LOL...thanks for sharing

Well yeah - as a guy we are - in fact - different! But what's that old song line - without boys what would little girls do? Ultraman is a good idea - I always like the 'whatever they liked the most' - that changes almost as fast as they grow up!

hugs - aus and co.
