Us on the news - in China

So they apparently decided to show the film footage the Chinese film crew took of us and some other local families as stories on the evening news. Here is the link to the TV station's website where you can, after much effort and frustration, view our 4 minutes of fame.

If any of you is brave enough to try it, under the video section there are a line of smaller rectangular boxes. At the right end of the line of boxes there is an arrow. Use that to go all the way to the end of the row of boxes. The one our story is in is the last box. I can't read anything in it except 6.1 and if you hover over it, you will see a picture of our family. It sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. I found it useful to let it sit (maybe something is loading) and try a little later.

It's kind of cute. Of course we have no idea what they are sayimg, but it seems positive. I am going to ask if we can get a copy of a DVD or something as I would like to keep this for the kids when they get older. No idea how many people saw it this time --the last one was 47 million people, which is hard enough to believe.

Updates on our patients: My mom is doing much better and was transferred to a rehab center today. She should be there for a couple of weeks and I am told they work you hard. If anyone can do it, it's Mom, she has an amazing strength (also known as stubborness) and there's no doubt she will work hard and come home sooner than they expect.

Patient #2, Jack, is also improving. Because the surgery was far more extensive than expected, it will take him a lot longer to get back on his feet. He is not yet walking though he is moving towards standing up. He goes back to the PT on Monday and we may end up needing to get him a wheelchair as day care starts the week after that and he will need to be mobile. We got one of those small umbrella strollers for him, but it really is too small. The doctor is still pleased with the results and told me this is a case he would be proud to present at any conference, which gave me a lot of confidence. We just need to wait the process out and pray that it works.
