Snow this week - very late for this part of the country. Record cold temps, too. We only got an inch or so at our house, but it was enough to close school for the day. Luckily, things were back to normal the next day, as Annie received an award at a school assembly. There is a theme each month at the school and in February it was being kind and helpful. Annie's teacher said lots of nice things about her.
And here is the difference between 3rd grade and 4th grade. Last year, Annie also got an award. When her class marched into the gym and she saw us Charlie and I sitting there, she jumped up and down and waved. She snuck glances at us all throughout. This year you would have thought we were invisible. She very carefully did not even look our way during the assembly. Afterwards, I went up front to get a picture and she said "Mom, you're embarrassing me!" As her class was leaving, she ran up to me to give me her certificate to take home and managed to overcome the humiliation enough to give me a hug--so that helped a little!
