If at all possible

try to avoid going on very long plane trips with a 5, 6, and 7 year old. We are home safe and sound and overall things went okay and the kids didn't do too badly, we had some very interesting moments. The is the first time I've actually been glad to be in a plane with a lot of screaming children, as mine just blended in with the general chaos.

Jack unfortunately saved his barfarama episode until about 20 minutes after we took off from Toyko. It was pretty unpleasant, will spare you the details. He also has a very strong aversion to wearing seat belts and spent a lot of time kicking and screaming to try to get out of it (we just found out this applies to car seats not just plane seats). We had problems on both flights with our seats not being together. This is the first time we've had a problem with a NW flight, it was pretty disappointing that very few of their staff seemed to care that kids were supposed to be sitting far away from their parents. Thank goodness some nice people agreed to move.

Anyway, we are here, the house is intact and we are going to try to get everyone to take a nap and then get settled in. I actually don't think that plan is going to work, but that's the idea at least.

More later

Welcome home!! I'm glad you made it safely! Can't wait to hear more about the trip, and see some "at home" pictures!

Can you post some pictures from the orphanage visit also?
:)

So glad you are home safely. Sounds like quite the ordeal! But remember, the worst experiences now make the best stories later...

Best wishes for a speedy recovery (from the bug AND the jetlag!),
